Ruins of battle of Monte Cassino

Sorry but this blip is 74 years late. I am going through the bits and pieces left by my dad who died last year. Amongst the belongings was this photo, taken by my grandad who fought with the Polish II Corps under General Anders. It shows the aftermath, probably after May 1944. He must have been through hell.
