Beekeeping week

Lots of problems with the bees this year. 3 out of 4 hives died out. I think we have worked out why but now have much hive maintenance to do.
My friend gave me a tiny swarm from her garden so had to make more frames for their new home. I have a nasty feeling that it is a cast swarm......... small and often containing one or more unmated queens. They often cause trouble!
