Pecking Order

Our latest campground is located on a bluff above Ninilchik Beach. Bald eagles fly overhead every few minutes as they soar in the breeze.

On the beach dozens of eagles wait for a stray fish or some fisherman's scraps near an inlet. Crows chance their luck, even pulling at the eagle's tail feathers to steal a morsel. Seagulls hope something is left.

I will add an extra showing the fantastic views of Copok Inlet, Mt. Iliamna and Mt. Redoubt offered by our spot.
