The Provider

After a a bit of gardening and a leisurely sit on the veranda once it warmed up a bit, I decided to make the most of a fine evening and had a drive up to the moorland fringes. At one of my favourite spot, there were large numbers of snipe drumming and chipping loudly, quite a few Curlews and some brown hares in the distance. As always there were plenty of Meadow Pipits, a few parachuting, but most, like this one were busy provisioning new young.Unusually, there were no Lapwing around. Not a good sign.
