Holiday weather!

Firstly, a huge thank you for all the kind comments yesterday - it just confirms what a great place blip is!

(Aunt) Liz and her friend have really struck lucky with the weather for their week in Orkney!  Endless blue skies and sunshine!  

Today we managed to explore the Broch of Gurness, picnicked at Aikerness beach, walked through the woods at Woodwick down to the shore and browsed Betty's Reading Room at Tingwall, so a pretty good day.  

At Betty's one of the owners of the bothy came in with pieces of millionaires' shortbread, flapjack and brownies for us to help ourselves to and Liz and I managed to come away with a few books each too!    A super day, and great to be able show Liz Orkney at its best.  Hopefully this will mean that it's not another 20 years or so before she comes back again!!
