Bird on a Wire
Art doesn't have to be serious...
On the advice of one of Janet's glasswork friends, we sped up the M5 to Showborough House Sculpture Garden for the day. They're holding something they call the Affordable Garden Art Exhibition, and it's well worth visiting even if you're not in the market for some art.
I couldn't say exactly how many pieces are on display, but well over a hundred. The garden too is delightful, set into themed rooms and hidden spaces and surrounded by semi-wild wood and parkland. Unfortunately the M50 is right next door, but if you can ignore that, it's a great day out.
The main picture is called, I think, "weight watchers". The extra is a lovely glass piece which like much of the exhibition is set beautifully into the flower border.
The exhibition is on until 17th June.
