Rose bud

The  A Year With My Camera's  homework  this week is Macro.  I don't  have  extension tubes or a special lens but apparently I had a setting on my camera for close ups - it it has a flower symbol.  Mostly I am on Aperture Priority so I fixed the tripod really high as this rose was at the top of the rose tree, stood on a chair and hoped I had focused correctly!  I was amazed at this shot I can even see the little insects on one the closed buds. The train home on Monday had a chill about it and now I have a  cold and hum dinger at that. I am going to Madeira on Monday so I really hope it will gone by then!
