RNLI Kessock ,25 years
A sunny day from the start and warm too. We went down to North Kessock as a I wanted to take photos of the Lifeboat station for my blip today as they were celebrating 25 years of saving lives https://rnli.org/news-and-media/2018/june/05/rnli-kessock-celebrate-25-years-of-saving-lives-at-sea.
The lifeboat was out on the slipway, in it’s cradle and ‘buggy’ ( not sure of it’s actual name ) .People started arriving and with in minutes they were changed and in the water and off on a shout. The first one of the day with another in the late afternoon.
On to Inverness to get some shopping for Brownies , Mike picked up his railway tickets and then back home.
It was our last Brownie session before the Summer holidays so lots of excitement as 7 of our Brownies we’re leaving , always sad to see them go :(
The girls had chosen to go to the beach and although it was still dry and sunny it was Very windy so we abandoned the idea of a BBQ to cook a special treat and it was a job holding on to the register etc.
The girls made Bug mugs to put in the garden ( Anne had given me a whole box of black mugs that she did nt need ), dressed up as a beekeeper and filled chocolate lined cones with fruit , marshmallows and more chocolate , would have melted nicely on the BBQ but still tasted good :)
The girls that were leaving wanted to say their Brownie Promise one last time. They had dug a big hole so they all stood inside to recite it.After they had received their farewell certificate and gift it was time for a dip in the sea. We’d been abit concerned as the waves had been pretty big, ideal for surfing , but it had calmed a little bit so in they went, 24 brave Brownies and 3 Leaders all enjoying the cold Moray Firth :)
Now trying to sort through hundreds of photos as I put together a collection of photos of the girls time at Brownies, it’s going to take a while !
