5700 years later

Geocaching and getting familiar tonight with geology and history of Vuoksi River related Earth Cache named Imatra Rapids. Imatra Rapids are the largest rapids in Europe and they have been a popular tourist attraction since 1700 century. Currently rapids are not running free all the time, but due that water line in Lake Saimaa area is now reached critical level after winter months, the one dam gate has been opened, so that water can run free to Vuoksi River, which leads from Imatra to the Europe's largest lake Lake Ladoga in Russia.
