Everyday I Write The Book

By Eyecatching

The simple sadness of a summer’s day

Which is the last line of a poem I read many years ago (I don’t remember the rest of it).

I was lacking in focus at work today. No other way of saying it. Going for a lunchtime walk cleared my head but didn’t raise my productivity levels.

I found a remarkable meadow a few minutes from the office I was working in. This young man was sitting very still and contemplating life (or so it seemed). That’s when the line from the poem came into my head. It was a serene and beautiful place but when I mentioned it back at the office someone said that the police had been called there the day before to break up a fight amongst youths with baseball bats. Such is the way of the world. Beauty contains the seed of its opposite. Yin Yang.

At least the sun was shining.
