RAF to the rescue
Ugghhh - went over a stone on the road today (it fell off the lorry ahead of me), and immediately had a flat tyre. It was, at least, on a quiet country road, not a busy road. Another bright side, was that I'd just dropped the eldest off at school, so only had the youngest in the car.
Despite having changed wheels a few times in the past, it was kind of the last thing I felt like doing. Got the car jacked up, spare wheel out and cursed that no knight in shining armour had stopped to help. At that moment, a lovely chap stopped, said he'd help and ten minutes later, there was a new wheel on the car. He'd been visiting his father in village next to where we live and was on his way back to work - as a Chinook engineer for the RAF. I don't think I could have asked for someone better qualified to come along and help. Totally indebted to him.
