Built like a tank
This is the larva of a bloody nosed beetle such as I blipped last year. I found it in the garden which provides it with an abundance of goosegrass, that irritating clingy climbing plant that sticks to clothes. (Our habit of tearing up and disposing of what we categorise as weeds is one of the reasons insect life is so depleted in many parts of Western Europe.)
June is the month of Thirty Days Wild in the UK, presented as an opportunity to do something wildlife-related every day of the month. Some people post photographs on social media. Two blippers I follow are doing that here (although there may be more): one is Mollyblobs and the other is MsQuizzical both of who are normally in the habit of taking stunning pictures of the natural world.
