Persimmon

The birds and squirrels are staring to eat the fruit, so it must be ready. I just wish they'd pick one and finish it, instead of tasting them all. I prefer to leave persimmons on the tree til we need them--that way we can enjoy them hanging there like an early Christmas tree--but I think we will have to bring them in soon or give it all up entirely.

This is a Fuyu, the hard kind of persimmon, and my favorite.
