Nixon lied; Trump lies pathologically. 

Nixon offered racist slurs in private; Trump tweets racism and misogyny daily.

Nixon was an experienced politician and in many respects an effective president. Trump manages to constantly debase the office daily in ways Nixon, for all his flaws, would never have dreamed of doing. Nixon was not incompetent, just dishonest.  Trump is both.

There are differences: one is angrier, more reactive, deceitful, distracted, vindictive, impulsive and, self-absorbed.
