Phantom Rainbow

It was raining this morning and the sky was very dark. Then the Sun stepped from behind the curtain and tossed this rainbow down. It existed for only about five minutes but I was able to capture it, standing in the shadow of the house.

It's like a visit to a beautiful place, like being with someone you love. It's like life. A line from Sophocles comes to mind, which I remember suddenly understanding, reading the Greek for the next day's class. That moment was so many years ago.

I see that we who live are nothing more
Than phantoms or ?eeting shadows.
