Borders Bike Ride

A lovely day for the Spring Bank Holiday.

In the morning I fit the new mudguards, and check the tourer for commuting to work tomorrow. Its looking pretty good.

In the afternoon, the sun is blazing, so I make use of it by heading down to the Borders. It feels a long time since I've done a ride in warm conditions, so I make sure I have a large water bottle  and a few iso gels. Sunny ride down to Penicuik, diversion through town because of roadworks. Then up Pomathorn over Mount Lothian past Gladhouse to Eddleston. Up and over the Meldon Hills to Lyne (Extra). The blip shows me heading towards the A72 on the Stobo road. These are the Meldon hills, which I had just passed through. Then Romannobridge, West Linton, Moor Road (headwind) and Penicuik.

The route at Relive is here.
