The Posh Shed

Today we visited eight private gardens participating in the West Malling Early Summer Gardens festival. The weather could not have been better. 28C with blue cloudless skies.

The gardens were all very different and quite soectacular. My blip is of an 18th C coach house with a dovecote in the apex of the roof. It was located iln the beautifully landscaped 5 acre garden belonging to an elegant manor house. The owner told us that the coach house was used as a storage shed. It would make a lovely house.

My extra is part of a very interesting garden that comprised many different "rooms" each leading through trees or arches into an unusual planted space. My blip was taken from a raised viewing"Serengeti" platform reached by climbing a steep wooden stairway. The opposite view looked over a large newly created lawn and further into their field. The whole garden was very imaginative and quirky.

There are some very talented gardeners and we had a thoroughly enjoyable day sharing their gardens.
