On Parade
Friday evening we attended the last post ceremony at Ploegsteert, West Berks Cemetery Extension memorial. This takes place on the first Friday of every month.
Last year we discovered this and there was only four of us then, as you can see we are considerably more this year.
Wilf, the Gloucestershire Rep for the RBL Riders Branch second from the right front row, recited the citation "They shall grown not old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them', to which everyone replies 'We Will Remember Them'.
Close by is the excellent 'Plugstreet Experience', so called because the British soldiers had difficulty pronouncing 'Ploegsteert'. Opposite the memorial is the equally excellent 'L'Auberge' restaurant bar run by Nelly and her battlefield tour husband Claude.
