Stew Pond

I love Saturday mornings - probably my favourite time of the week. I had a relaxing morning at home and then when Gavin went in to the village for an eye test I went with him as I planned to take some photos at the river. However I did not get the shots I wanted as the water was too rippled from the breeze. 

I met Gavin at the opticians and while I was there I was convinced to get some prescription sunglasses, as I find it difficult reading in bright light with my usual reading glasses. I also had a quick eye test to check my prescription had not changed (they did not charge me for this) - it had - and I have now ordered the new sunglasses. Gavin and I then had coffee at our favourite cafe, a bit of a Saturday morning ritual for us. 

Before going home we popped in to Stew Pond as I wanted to see if the irises were in bloom. They were, but better still there was this cute family of geese and goslings - the parents were being very protective so I could not get that close and did not have a very long lens with me - I have added an extra of a closer shot.

The cloudy morning has given way to a beautiful sunny day - perfect weather for tonight's BBQ supper!
