It was The Colonel's Review, so there was much military marching and music by St. James's Park, but I kept my lens focussed on the birds.

The first brood of cygnets are now big and bean-baggy, we found and spent some time with this adorable family, spotted a red-crested pochardling with its drakepecked mother, and found the bar-headed goslings further around. There was quite a lot of conflict (military movements inducing belligerence?) with a menacing heron intimidating all those with young (including some coots, geese, and ducks...) and the crows upsetting the bar-headed geese.

My others are all here (or right from Snoozing cygnets)
