Nature’s question
These are 4 eggs in a nest belonging to a lapwing plover who had taken a stroll away when I went down to take the photo . The nest is situated in the middle of a large lawn , see extra picture showing the nest and how the grass was cut around it . It remains a mystery as to why they choose such a place that seems so open and vulnerable to predators
