Bus Challenge No 143!
Paradis Palm Court Trio, Midsomer Norton Town Hall
“Paradis Palm Court Trio - Jacquelyn Bevan (piano), Lisa Betteridge (violin) & Linda Stocks (cello) - are the trio in residence at Midsomer Norton Town Hall. They present a themed concert on the first Friday of every month (except January), 12.30-1.30pm. Musical styles vary from classical to pop, jazz to songs from the shows. Home-made cakes, and tea & coffee, are on sale.”
For a change, my Bus Challenge friend started today’s journey and joined me at my local bus stop, from where we took the bus heading south, through Somerset’s country lanes and villages to Midsomer Norton. We arrived just in time to buy a cuppa and some homemade cakes to munch while we listened to the music of the Paradis Palm Court Trio in the Victorian Assembly Room. It was a very pleasant and genteel hour, and made me feel very young. Not often that happens these days!
And for a change, Lady Luck was on my side. Just after we got on the bus to Midsomer Norton the skies opened and we had torrential rain. Luckily the rain stopped just before we got off the bus. On our return journey, the rain started again the minute we got on the bus and then stopped just before we got off again! Having said that, on our return bus, we had to move seats three times as the rain was dripping in through the roof in so many different places!! Given the weather (heavy muggy downpours), we didn’t get to go for a wander around Midsomer Norton so today’s blip isn’t the most interesting shot (you can just about make out the musicians), but at least I didn’t get wet taking it!
Total bus journey time = 1 hour 16 mins
