Tired little gosling

Such an emotional outing today. I was photographing the goslings in the pond when a huge dog ran across the field away from it's owner chasing the geese that were there and as it got to me at the waters edge it caught a gosling and killed it. I was mortified. What made the whole thing even worse though was that there were small children close to me who witnessed the whole thing and they were distraught. The owner came over and noticed what her dog had done and said she was going to find a ranger. What she actually did, was got in her car and went home!!!! 
I reported it to the rangers and although i had to fill in a detailed report form they said there was little they could do as she had left and it was unlikely they would find her :(
