Through a glass
... not so darkly, despite what 1 Corinthians 13:12 may say. The wine may be dark, but the outside world is a bit brighter: but not a lot on this November day..
I explained yesterday that our son and daughter-in-law are visiting briefly from the USA. My wife's birthday is next week, and our son had the excellent idea of taking us out to lunch. Our daughter, who lives not far from Warminster, in Wiltshire, was able to join us, despite having to battle with snow in the early part of her journey.
We ate a very fine meal at The Cherwell Boathouse. You can see through the window that the River Cherwell (tributary of the Thames) is getting pretty high.
For the record, and regrettably in the mode of 'family snaps', here is the little family gathering , missing, of course, the photographer.
And, just to round things off, this is the restaurant cat sleeping off the food he has doubtless scrounged from the customers.
