May is out!

After a routine hospital appointment, we went up to Longshaw so I could complete my butterfly survey. On the one hand, there was a disappointing show - some Green Hairstreaks, a few Green-veined Whites and an Orange Tip - on the other hand, I spotted a Dingy Skipper, which wasn’t even on my list. A new species for Longshaw? Hopefully, Mark the Ranger will let me know. I failed to get a butterfly photo, but at least there was the wonderful sight of this May blossom. It seems to me that this year, it is is particularly spectacular.
