Shining Shetlanders....
.....up early for a decent cycle. I've had my eye on a Dalmeny Estate exploration for a while and today seemed as good as any for a poke around. There's really not that much to see, but the views out to the Forth are most pleasant. I was curious about the prominent race horse statue on the main lawn; it's explained here.
In the spirit of exploration, I followed some alternative routes north and found a much gentler descent into, and and hence ascent out of, South Queensferry. A brief stop for a very average coffee before the return to Embra via Cramond. Pleased with my morning activity, I dropped into Ronde for an excellent flat white and a dipping pastry.
Unfortunately, the day was to take a very dark turn, as Nancy dragged me off to Ikea. Second and final time I've been; it's never happening again.
