Closure

It's been a memorable weekend, possibly one I will recall for the rest of my life. It had all the ingredients required for a weekend to be lifelong for me.
Firstly it takes something on the field at Lincoln City for me to lay down as an initial marker. Many of my stories contain lines such as 'we had just lost 4-3 to Orient', or 'we'd beaten Boston 2-0 during the day..'

This weekends story starts with 'We had battered Walsall from League One for 88 minutes and deserved a win, but they managed a late equaliser'. The fact behind it is that for a short moment I forgot my clubs turmoil over the last few years, and instead I focused on a committed and talented eleven players wearing my teams kit.

To make it more memorable the lovely Bryher was at my side the whole time.

The evening brought a fireworks display at my Dads, one of those family occasions that make life what it is. As well as dad and Mo there was (obviously Fe, my cousin (and man mountain) Darren and his wife 'Our' Trace. His mum and my aunty Susan was there with her husband Malcolm. We all got a bit drunk (except Mo who doesn't drink), let off some fireworks and laughed the night away. It was (to use a phrase I've always liked) effing ace.

Friday night I got to watch The Usual Suspects with Fe who (get this) HADN'T SEEN IT! I got to watch someone trying to figure out who Kaiser Sauzee was just like I did in 1995. Brilliant.

However the real big news of the weekend I can't go into. Those who have followed me for 18 months plus will recall the experiences I had from March 2011 for a few months - well that was finally put to bed on Saturday. I can't go into details, but for the first time in a while the Stacey West end of the ground that I've lived my life on was free of a dark cloud.

This weekend really was the final closure on a really rancid experience that has spanned almost two years.

Oh yeah the picture. It's a firework to celebrate everything that is effing ace in my life right now.
