...Fur coat
Since this seemed to work yesterday, I am going for two in a row...photo taken with my Nikon d90 and the 500mm zoom. Since I am uploading from my iPad, the exif data is going to show that this was taken with an iPhone, so don't be fooled.
Some 80% of the people in the township I live in are still without power, and about 60% of the county remains without power. I have offered our home and shower to several people I know on the area. The local government is doing a good job of providing shelter, showers and water to local residents. And since the governor instituted odd/even gas rationing, the lines to gas up cars are shorter. Hopefully most of our services will be restored in the upcoming week. We are still without cable or Internet so most of my news is coming from family members in areas unaffected by Sandy.
My hubs is about 5 hours out of Alabama now, and my MIL is doing well on the long trip. They were able to get a good night of sleep last night so started the second day of their journey well rested. He will get her settled tonight and handed off to my BIL and SIL who live there, then he will make his way to Atlanta and fly home on Tuesday. I will be so happy to have him home - I think we both need some nurturing right now.
I am so touched by your comments and your concern for my MIL. It is sad how many of you have direct experience with this awful disease. The worst thing right now is that she is aware that she is losing her memory - and it is just gut wrenching.
I shall try to catch up with some of journals tonight. The 3G on my phone is good, but on the iPad it is awful, so my comments will last only until my fingers get cramped from the phone! I am not complaining though - I have heat, food, water and power!
Little Seymour says he feels bad for us humans who aren't able to grow warm fur and luxurious fluffy tails. He may be right.
