Oh deer

After a tasty breakfast my friend Sally picked me up from outside the hotel.The weather was not that great and not a great forecast either but we decided to chance it and headed to Woburn Abbey gardens.
We drove through the 2 miles of deer park with lots of photo opportunities. I had not realised that there were 9 species of deer in the park and now wondering if the deer I just assumed were Red or Fallow deer may be something else.
We had a wonderful walk through the colourful gardens and had a good chat up.The sun was peeping through by lunchtime so we sat outside the cafe and had our lunch.Sadly it was time to go.David had walked to Willen Lake so we managed to find him and said our goodbyes.
David and myself then had a great walk by the lake and down to the canal.We sat in the sun and watched boats going by. A heron sat on the side of the canal fishing. It was getting sooo hot so lots of walking and then sitting in the shade, grateful that there were plenty of benches.
We met Mike at the Cinema and went to see Solo , a Starwars film.Really enjoyed it , just like the old films with lots of creatures and some comic moments to.
We went to Wetherspoons afterwards where David and myself shared a lasagne and curry.
Walked back to the hotel, saw some rats and some drama when a tent was on fire in one of the under passes ,Police and fire service quickly on the scene and the fire put out in seconds .
Sore feet by the time we got back to the hotel.
