The 45!

Back Blip

We set off for our holiday cottage in Bala, calling at Bridgnorth Severn Valley Railway on the way, as we'd been told by friends that it was a beautiful station to photograph.

Just as we arrived at the station, an old train chugged in and hundreds of rucksack carrying men surged on the platform and proceeded to race over the bridge to the other side. A gentleman told us that the 45 was due in any minute. There was a sudden rush to the other end of the platform and sure enough, the Royal Tank Regiment slowly pulled in.

We found out later that it was a Diesel Gala weekend. It meant nothing to me until I researched it later.
