Deer Near the Pond

After 4 days of temperatures in the 90s (30-34 C), we got rain and a huge drop in temperature.  With that heat, we really needed the rain.  So this afternoon, after the rain stopped, I went out to see if I could find some bugs.  I had seen a monarch on a round milkweed plant while I was on a walk, so I was hopeful. Well, no bugs, but I did startle Mama Deer and Fawn.  As you can see, they didn't stick around.
