building bridges

I've had a lifelong fascination with bridges. This is one of the six which cross the Nith in Dumfries. It's called the Loreburn Bridge and was built in 2001 fro pedestrians and cyclists -   National Cycle Route 7 crosses over it.

Also a perch for seagulls...10 years ago a national summit was held in Dumfries to address the "seagull problem" and various measures have been taken to reduce their numbers, including the removal of their eggs. It seems that their numbers are dropping. You can read all about it HERE.
