So many wishes...
Dear Diary,
Dandelion season is at its end with little puff balls dotting the yard. Amazingly, they escaped being cut down in last weeks mow, simply bent over, and up they sprang a day later! Now, people with serious lawns would be aghast but, personally, I love them. When I see them, I think of Gram's dandelion wine and...wishes!
Blowing on a dandelion while making a wish is a memory from my childhood but carrying wishes or prayers on the breeze is a tradition that exists in many cultures. The prayer flags of Tibet and the prayers added to incense at a Taos monastery to rise with the smoke also use the same concept. So, make your wishes and set them free! This sad world could use your good intentions riding the breezes.
