Do you Understand
evening all,
One of the things i am rapidly learning about being here is that there is a different concept of the understanding of the word "large".
I live in a very small community, almost a hamlet, back home, but with easy links to, what i consider, lots of large towns and cities.
However if you lived in London or Birmingham perhaps, you would scoff at my interpretation of the word "large", and so it is in this part of Ireland.
A drive of 50 + kilometres was recommended to us to reach the "largest" town, Killdare i think, which was advertised to us a bustling metropolis, on a par with London,Paris,Rome, yet set in the middle of a vibrant national park.
Two car Parks, one Tesco, two streets of retail outlet type shops and many pubs catering for the coach party trade does not make retail nirvana for this boy,
but, as i say, it is all in interpretation and i can totally understand why, in this very remote part of Ireland, Killdare is considered a large centre of commerce.
and it does definitely have the advantage of not being Birmingham....
night all
