Red-Shouldered Hawk

A young male in full breeding plumage. We've heard him since we've been staying in Nipomo. Finally, today as we're packing and moving stuff to the car, I hear him close by. I look up and there he is on top of a telephone pole. He stayed there long enough for me to get my camera and take a few shots. Check meta-data and see how far I was reached to get this shot! The 215mm is equal to a 1200mm lens!
