Cornfield with Buzzard

Adventurous walk in November sunshine. More corn-on-the-cob nicely swollen in the fields, not yet harvested. After last night's heavy rain, the tracks are flooded in many places, and the claggy chalk mud, the colour of Gollum, sucks at our boots. Hard going, but it is quiet and peaceful away from the roads. We don't see another soul except for pheasants and a lone buzzard gliding towards the swelling flank of the South Downs. Pretty perfect late autumn day.

The photograph looks across the corn field to Horley farm barns. Horley farm also has a dilapidated dairy I'd like to explore. Another day.
