After the storm

We had a much more restful day today - coffee in the garden and just sitting outside in the gorgeous weather. No sorting done for once!

During lunch time I could hear thunder in the background the whole time from the south. I must have particularly good hearing in the very low register for some reason as neither of the others could hear it. It gave us due warning of an approaching storm and we got the garden chairs in and the washing off the line, just in time as it turned out as there was a sudden terrific hailstorm. Then the storm came right overhead, which doesn't often happen here.

Afterwards it seemed cooler, then warmed up again. I took this photo of our rhododendron in the late afternoon as I liked the raindrops still lingering on the petals.
