Safety First!

Here I am making a handle for the lid of the Beads of Courage box. It’s a very small piece of wood, and the bandsaw table is tilted 14 degrees. To avoid having my fingers dangerously close to the saw blade, I used a wooden clamp to grip it.

The wood is from my scrap box. It was the core from a very small bandsawn box, made from the core of a larger box which was made from the core of a yet larger box. Very little of the original block was wasted!
