So Beautiful...So Poisonous

This beautiful lily is a common plant in the mid- Willamette Valley.  "Calla Lilies are members of the arum family and are native to cool temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere in central, eastern, and northern Europe, northern Asia and northern North America.

The plant is very poisonous when fresh due to its high oxalic acid content, but the rhizome is edible after drying, grinding, leaching and boiling." (Wikipedia)

A fun Memorial Day party at a friend's home with friends I've known many years.
