It's rather amazing to be posting this while I watch the flooding in the Midlands on TV. I hope you are all okay.
Every year when (and if!) the weather gets hot, the younger people pour into the river. It's been going on for hundreds of years. Wordsworth writes about doing it in 'The Prelude'. He was born a few yards down the river form where these people are swimming. I doubt if he had a day as warm as this one - we had to shelter in the house for part of the day. Thankd goodness the cottage had thick walls!
