Swings and roundabouts
Very sadly, we had our ginger cat Squawk put to sleep last Wednesday. He had been off his food and not happy since the previous Sunday. When we took him to the vet, after feeling his abdomen he was immediately sent for x-ray and ultrasound scans. There was a large mass in his abdomen, likely a lymphoma and with little chance of a good outcome from surgery, we made the hard decision.
The positive from this horrible event is that Jake, our other cat, has really benefited from not having his ginger nemesis around. Jake and Squawk have never got on in the years since we rescued Jake and fought all the time. With Squawk gone, Jake has become much more relaxed and seems happier.
