Well That Was Different

Up early for a breakfast consisting of a biscuit and coffee before showering, shaving and dressing ready for the Trebah Military Day.
Down to pick up Joshua following a hair cut, out to Penryn to pick up Steve and Tina and then off to Trebah.
The journey out was enlivened by being behind an ex US Army truck known as a “deuce and a half”, the smell and noise enough to turn heads.
The day itself is to both commemorate and remember the U.S 29th Infantry Division which embarked from here for D Day and Omaha Beach. Known as “Bloody Omaha” the U.S suffered 5,000 casualties in one day.
The sun shone, a pasty lunch, a parade, a drumhead service, vintage military vehicle parade and Cream Tea.
Most of all the opportunity to relax amongs fellow Veterans and friends.

Then it was home, change and down town so that Joshua could ‘blind bid’ for an eight pint beer tower.
Home for something to eat whilst Josh and his friend shouted at the Liverpool v Real Madrid match on TV.
We then headed back down town to “The Games Room” to await the result of the auction.
Josh was the third highest bidder and therefore won one. Knowing how much he had bid I was initially a bit sceptical however they go for around £120 on e-bay, probably three times what he paid for it.
