Newark Park

After a lovely blue sky at about 7.00am the weather got progressively worse until at midday when we were due to pick up Mollie from her sleep-over it was peeing it down with rain.

Nevertheless we headed over to Newark Park and by the time we got there the rain had stopped, the sun was coming out and it was getting warmer.

We had a wander through the woods before the track descended into a quagmire of mud and rocks so headed back to the solace of the tea room!

We also had a guided tour of the basement which taught us a great deal about the history and architecture of the house, which is not immediately apparent from first glance.

A grand day out.

Stanley needed a bath when we got home!
