Climbing into the blue

A lovely warm and sunny day with quite a breeze, but a warm one. Great fir a Bank Holiday weekend but it was quite tricky therefore to get this shot of the Clematis Montana which has climbed its way up into the Oak tree at the bottom of our garden.

We've had a Montana growing on the back wall for many years but this is the first time it has decided to climb the tree.
The original Oak tree actually belonged to our neighbtour across the wall and he had it chopped down. Out of the many thousands of seedlings that sprang up we allowed one to grow. A few years ago on blip I captured the new growth when the tree was about at my height but it has rapidly grown very tall since then.
