View from County Gate

This view was shrouded in mist today; it felt really atmospheric although we had managed to have a lunch at Bossington in the relative dry.
We had a much needed break for the day to Exmoor - I am trying to find a painting of Culbone as my family have given me some money towards one. An artist called Brian Hanscomb has done a copper engraving in amazing detail so you can almost see every tile on the roof but I think as a limited edition that they have all been sold. We visited the Gallery in Porlock but to no avail.
The book meeting last night went really well and the generic questions proved a good base for discussion - in fact we discussed the book for much longer than usual !
We had to take a detour down the Toll Road on the way home as a car had overturned on Porlock Hill.
