'Allo, 'Allo
After my first full week at work I was tempted to have a lie in this morning, but I managed to drag myself down to the Quays and do a swim around the dock. I'm glad I went, but I am knackered now....I will definitely lie in tomorrow!
Pat and I whizzed over to Ramsbottom to see what was going on for the 1940s weekend. It wasn't as busy as previous years, but it was still good. We sort of dressed up for it....we didn't have proper 1940s gear but we managed to make a passable effort.
We decided to go along to Rawtenstall and see what was happening there too. There was a fly past by a spitfire that we all oohed and aaahed at. I thought that there was going to be a battle re enactment, but it was happening at the station we'd just left...in Rammy! Oh well..
We left the 40s behind and went round to Ellen's for tea and scones. Ellen had been on a health care course in the week where she received a bag of useful things to use at the surgery to help educate people on healthy lifestyles. There was a large plastic 'pound of fat' and 'furred up arteries'....we had a look at them as we munched our scones....ha ha ha.
