Koslowski's Stage Stop
This stage coach stop was one day's ride from Santa Fe on the Santa Fe Trail. During the time of the trail, beginning 1822, It was known for it's fish dinners.
During the Civil War in the West tour, given by the Pecos National Historical Park, we learned that the Union/Colorado Volunteers camped here. The next day, March 26, 1862, they engaged in the battle of Glorieta Pass, the decisive engagement with the invading Texans. The Texans were defeated and skulked home.
By the way, it was the second (at least) invasion of New Mexico by Texans...and not the last.
