TravelswithMatilda
Thursday 24th.
More aptly described today as 'adventures with Matilda' particularly driving round Loch Lomond on the very narrow and twisty roads with coaches full of holiday makers careering round nearly every corner. After that bit of hairiness we had a pit stop for lunch in a lay by, with a wooded area full of bluebells behind us and a view of the Loch in front of us. Once re-energised we set off for more adventures but had a trouble free and beautiful journey up to the highlands and through the majestic Glencoe. Mr T was disappointed that there were no jets screaming through on their stealthy low level flights!!
We found our caravan site with no problem but on arrival found there was a problem as the site owner had overbooked so there was no room at the inn for us and the site owner was nowhere to be found ............. So what happened next???
Aren't there some really lovely people around. The owners of the caravans already on the site rallied round us and were very kind making us cups of tea and helping us decide what to do rather late on in the afternoon. Then the owners of a motorhome said they were shortly going out for something to eat and as they were leaving the site anyway the next day we could have their pitch and they would find somewhere to park up for the night as they said it was easier to do in a small motorhome rather than with a caravan. So thanks to those kind people we got settled in by 7pm and enjoyed the rest of the evening, drinking wine with our neighbours and watching the sun go down over the most beautiful spot we're staying in.
