An unidentified bug!

Some kind of beetle, but I have no idea what sort. Spotted this morning on the arm of the garden bench. I just hope it’s not some sort of wood-munching bug!

A cloudy day, and a much cooler day. From late morning onwards, we’ve had rain. I’m not complaining though, the garden really needed it. Plus it forced me to get on with some much-needed housework, preparing for visitors…
