Life on the Edge

A big walk this morning (télécabine is now closed till the summer season arrives) took me up to Roc d'Orsay, the domain of our local Bouquetins. I was delighted to watch 10 females and youngsters grazing on the high pasture then moving along this ridge. The youngsters were head butting and playing with each other (see extras) the females moving languidly as they are heavily pregnant. They all look a bit bedraggled, as they are losing their winter coats. Suddenly, on the next ridge, the young Chamois (see extras) popped up. He had been lying down, so well camouflaged I hadn't seen him.
What a delightful morning, there are a few more shots in https://www.flickr.com/photos/hilarysview/? if you would like to see more.
